STROPPING COMPOUND
Boston Blade Co stropping compound uses verified 0.5 micron abrasive, the same grade used by fine gem cutters. It has the perfect texture and a unique applicator to apply just the right amount without the waxy buildup associated with cheap import compound.
There are lots of opinions about how to keep knives sharp. There is no one right or wrong answer but I guarantee that this compound, when properly used, will help you maintain a performing edge, day after day, with little effort.
Available with either a 0.5 micron chromium oxide or 0.5 micron diamond abrasive it's the real deal, guaranteed.
While it's not the best sales strategy I make products the way I would want to buy them. Each tube contains 65 grams of compound which will last you a long time. A year or more of heavy use. Keep in mind a little goes a long way.
CHROMOX
This is workhorse compound suitable for general purpose use, for carbon steel blades and anything under 62 Rockwell C hardness. 20 strokes of your EDC on a quality strop will keep your knife sharp and keen after use without having to constantly resharpen.
DIAMOND
This is heavy duty compound. If your EDC gets a hot supper on a regular basis this compound will perform a little better for you than CHROMOX. It removes very slightly more material than CHROMOX and restores keeness a little bit more aggresively.
LARGE FORMAT STROP
I have confidence that this is the finest strop available today and really the only strop specifically suited to pocket knifes and larger sizes like daggers. When I started making my hanova knife one of my first thoughts was how to sharpen it and keep it sharp. When I searched for stones, strops, and abrasives I was surprised to find that no one was making work proven tools for high end pocket style blades so I had to make my own. This strop is what I created to solve that need.
Most strops have a grain side and a suede side. In my testing, the suede side consistently produced inferior results so I made this strop with 2 grain sides so that two distinct abrasive compounds can be charged. Say the compounds above, chromox and diamond.
Each side is made from 7oz full grain ultra fine grade american bull hide. In my testing this produced the best sharpness with the least strokes while also remaining durable. It is treated with a specialty leather finish I formulated to make sure that abrasive grains charge correctly for the sharpest and keenest edge.
I had custom hardware made to support dual sided ambidextrous use. Some good friends of mine are lefties and I know they often get shorted when it comes to the world of quality knives.
